Company Profile:

Our client is a growing ingredients manufacturer looking to hire a national Director of Sales. You will manage a team of 5 business development managers who are across Canada.Your role will be to meet or exceed company goals for profitable revenue growth. You should come from the food industry and ideally LOVE food.

Functions:

Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
Select, direct, coordinate and oversee regional and local sales staff, including coaching, performance monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that policies, strategies and the company marketing plan are executed by the BDMs at the customer level
Establish customer strategies in line with company business plan in order to optimize the company's growth with the customer
Plan and direct staffing, training and performance evaluations, to develop and control the sales programs
Develop and implement sales policies and procedures, sales process, sales strategy and the distribution channels, in line with the company business plan
Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, CRM, and other performance data to measure sales productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
Confer with management to develop company business plan, plan advertising, develop promotional plans, and to secure information on product specifications, and communicate these to BDMs
Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts, through relationships with customers and by reviewing sales and market data.
Confer with existing and potential customers regarding their needs, and advise customers on what products or services the company can provide to support their needs

Job Requirements:

Academic A university degree in business marketing, economics or related field is a benefit.
Languages Excellent French and English language skills, both oral and written, are necessary for the position.
Experience 10 years of business to business sales experience is required, with at least 5 years of sales management experience for global, national, or key strategic account business
