Job Description:

Profile: Our client is a well-respected manufacturer of steel products and they are looking for a Business Development Rep (channel manager) to manage their distributors in western Canada and build distributors in the US. The person that we are looking for has built and managed distribution networks in the past especially a technical product.

Territory: Western Canada and the US

Work Place: Home Office (fist 2 months from office)

Products/Services: Steel products

Salary: Base $80,000 to $100,000

Commissions/Bonus:$20,000 annually

Car allowance: All vehicle expenses reimbursed

Expenses reimbursement: All reasonable expenses reimbursed

Functions:

Functions:

  • Evaluate existing  distributors
  • Train and accompany distributor  reps
  • Ensure that the proper tools are available to your distributors
  • Evaluate opportunities
  • Produce and execute on business  plan for the territory
  • Evaluate US territory and make recommendations
  • Establish and follow budgets
  • Ensure that our brand is untarnished and consistent in all markets

Job Requirements:

Requirements:

Development vs Maintenance: 50% vs 50%

Road vs Office: 25% vs 75%

Languages: Both English and French (written and spoken)

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field but work experience will be considered

Training: On the job training provided over 2 months

Overnight Travel: 25% overnight travel required

Years’ of experience: 10 years' experience in a pertinent field with a record of success required
