Job Description:

Profile: Our client is a manufacturer of insulaion and is looking for a technical sales person based in the Ottawa/Gatineau area who will cover Northeastern Ontario and Quebec as a territory. In addition to covering the existing customer base, the rep will be responsible for delivering double-digit growth.

Territory: Northeastern Ontario & Quebec

Work Place: Home office

Products/Services: Insulation (building materials)

Salary: Base $60,000-$65,000

Commissions/Bonus: $10,000-$15,000 annually

Car allowance: Vehicle and gas expenses provided

Expenses reimbursement: All reasonable expenses reimbursed

Other Benefits: Full medical,dental, vision and paramedical provided



  • Grow territory through regular and scheduled visits to existing customers and prospects
  • Maintain market intelligence and information on market conditions and competitive products and pricing and share information within the company
  • Present our products to designers, architects, contractors, owners, suppliers and trade shows
  • Achieve and exceed sales quotas
  • Regularly update CRM with sales activities
  • Be in regular contact with sales manager to update on sales opportunities

Job Requirements:


Development vs Maintenance: 60% vs 40%

Road vs Office: 80% vs 20%

Languages: full bilingualism required

Education: College degree or equivalent experience required

Training: Full training provided at Toronto head office

Overnight Travel: Less than 15% overnight travel required

Years’ of experience: At least 1 year experience in the building materials industry required

Other requirements: You are technical in nature and used to selling to building supply dealers and OEMs

Transferable contacts:  Experience selling to  building supply dealers and specification with architects and designers is a plus

Transferable Knowledge: Knows the building materials and construction industry
