Job Description:

Profile: Our client is a manufacturer of construction and building materials and is looking for a head of merchandising to manage a small team . Your role will be to manage the relationships with our suppliers who supply marketing materials and samples and the retailers who request these items.

Territory: Canada and the US

Work Place: Montreal

Products/Services: Construction and building materials

Salary: $75,000

Commissions/Bonus: Annual bonus based on profit sharing

Car allowance: None but km reimbursed when on the road

Expenses reimbursement: All reasonable expenses reimbursed

  • Manage the development of the merchandising and promotional materials for all customer segments
  • Responsible for the planning and coordination of trade shows
  • Prepare and manage the advertising and merchandising budget
  • Responsible for the supervision of the suppliers involved in the production of sales tools and sales collateral
  • Work in close relation with suppliers and freelancers to develop merchandising and advertising projects
  • Manage the merchandising center and its staff
  • Implement and manager advertising strategies
  • Perform other administrative  duties such as media buying, newsletters  and press releases
  • Attend industry trade shows

Job Requirements:


Development vs Maintenance: N/A

Road vs Office: 10% vs 90%

Languages:  Bilingualism required

Education: bachelor's degree in marketing/advertising is a must

Training: On the job training provided

Overnight Travel: less than 10% overnight travel required

Years’ of experience: 5 to 10 years experience in related field required

Other requirements: Experience in B2B advertising/merchandising required, experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
