Job Description:

Profile: Our client is a growing company looking for 2 sales people to handle new business and maintenance of the customer base in Quebec. They manufacture industrial pumps which are sold into a variety of industries (municipalities, mining, food, chemical etc). We are looking for a territory rep who has experience selling pumps into similar industries. You are adept at finding new business as well as growing an existing customer base. The candidates will have a mechanical engineering education and experience selling pumps.

Territory: 1) North shore & 2) South shore

Work Place: Home office

Products/Services: Industrial pumps

Salary: Base $80,000- $95,000 (depending on experience)

Commissions/Bonus: $22,000 and up to 95% of your base upon over-achievement

Car allowance: $850 per month

Expenses reimbursement: All reasonable expenses reimbursed

  • Visit end users, OEM's and consulting engineers
  • Develop and execute on annual  sales plan for your territory
  • Prepare and submit quotes and technical submittals for municipal jobs
  • Ensure regular and accurate quotation follow up
  • Evaluate customer base for growth
  • Ensure full coverage of territory
  • Perform training and coverage for trade shows
  • Create target list of top 20 accounts with a sales plan

Job Requirements:


Development vs Maintenance: 50% vs 50%

Road vs Office: 70% vs 30%

Languages: English and French

Education: Mechanical engineering education at a DEC or university level

Training: Full training provided at head office in Ontario

Overnight Travel: less than 15% overnight travel required

Years’ of experience: At least 5 years experience selling pumps

Other requirements:

  • Business acumen
  • Must be able to create quarterly business plans based on your territory

Transferable Knowledge:  

  • You have experience selling both long and short sales cycles
  • You can sell project-based projects
  • You have experience calling on engineers and consultants
