Job Description:

Profile: Our client is a fabricator who is looking for a technical account manager who will take care of a territory of about 350 clients worth about $2 million.  They sell customized parts that are sold into a variety of industries such as aerospace, automotive , HVAC, windows and doors and military. They are very project-based and as such the technical account manager needs to service the immediate needs of the clients while seeking long-term projects and opportunities. This is not a sell via a catalog position as each client's needs are unique. The ideal technical account manager needs to be able to seek out needs and sell value while selling today and planting the seeds for tomorrow. Please forward your resume in English please.

Territory: Laval and north

Work Place: Home office

Products/Services: Customized industrial parts

Salary: Base $40,000

Commissions/Bonus: Territory now billing about $20,000 annually

Car allowance: KM reimbursement

Expenses reimbursement: All expenses reimbursed

  • Identify new opportunities from your customer  base
  • Probe clients' immediate and long-term needs
  • Service and maintain sales to existing customers
  • Prospect for new business through cold calling, networking and referrals
  • Communicate large-scale projects to concerned staff
  • Coordinate with internal sales engineers and sales management in an effort to manage upcoming projects
  • Ensure customer requirements are met
  • Forward any reports in a timely manner
  • Maintain effective communication with sales management

Job Requirements:


Development vs Maintenance: 30% vs 70%

Road vs Office: 80% vs 20%

Languages: French and English

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Training: 2 weeks' training in our Toronto office and ongoing throughout the year

Overnight Travel: Less than 15% overnight travel required

Years’ of experience:At least 2 years' industrial sales selling to manufacturers

Other requirements: You have sold to engineering and production teams

Transferable contacts: N/A

Transferable Knowledge:

  • You have sold projects
  • You are a value-based technical account manager
  • You can get to the point and determine whether opportunities exist within your accounts
