Job Description:

Profile: Our client is a distributor of high end furniture and seeks to hire a business development rep to call on the architect and designer (A&D) community. Your role will be engage the A&D community, participate in bids and support their client needs.The person we seek has a flair for design, knows how to read floor plans and is presentable and is strong in business development.

Territory: Montreal

Salary: $55,000-$75,000

Commissions/Bonus: $75,000 year  

Car allowance: TBD

Expenses reimbursement: $500 per month allotted for parking at client location, lunches and entertainment and cell phone

Functions:

  • Visit and engage A&D community
  • Develop relationships with architects and designers
  • Identify business opportunities
  • Make presentations regularly on our products and services
  • Provide quotes
  • Coordinate services with both internal and external members of the implementation team
  • Meet and exceed sales and gross profit margin targets
  • Attend trade shows
  • Update company CRM

Job Requirements:

Requirements:  

Development vs Maintenance: 80% vs 20%

Road vs Office: 50% vs 50%

Languages: French and English

Education: Interior design background or technical background in specification

Training: On the job training

Overnight Travel: Very little overnight travel required

Years’ of experience: 10 years' sales experience,  

Other requirements:   Must be able to pass a criminal background test

Transferable contacts: Has experience selling to architects and designers

Transferable Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft suite
  • Knows how to read and interpret a floor plan
  • Design experience a definite asset
  • Well put-together and presentable
  • Positive and team leader
  • Used to a sales cycle of up to 12 months
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Use to selling high-end products
