Job Description:

Profile: Our client is a manufacturer of consumer products and has created a new position of Learning and Development Manager to spearhead a team of training specialists and implement an LMS (learning management system). You will work closely with the VP and your team to design and roll out a world-class training and development program that will touch new employees from the onboarding stage and throughout their career with our company. You have experience managing and developing people, implementing best practices and using technology to accomplish your goals.

Functions:

Functions:

  • Manage and lead a team of training specialists. Guide them to create learning and growth opportunities
  • Participate in the roll out of the LMS which includes tracking key metrics
  • Oversee all training programs and performance improvement projects
  • Evaluate different tools such as e-learning, virtual classroom etc
  • Identify gaps in learning and come up with solutions to fix them
  • Work hand in hand with the VP on the preparation of the learning and development annual plan
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in digital learning trends, training tools and platforms
  • Hold regular one on one session with each team member

Development vs Maintenance: N/A

Road vs Office: 10% vs 90%

Languages: French and English (bilingualism required)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management, psychology, adult education or any related field

Training: On the job training provided

Overnight Travel: Less than 10% overnight travel required

Years’ of experience: 7-10 years experience in developing learning and development strategies, programs etc especially with virtual classrooms required

Other requirements: Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, in fact, must love it

Transferable Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience with blended learning solutions (off line and online)
  • Experience in sourcing and implementing an LMS
  • Strong people management and leadership skills needed
