Job Description:

Profile: Our client is a distributor of chemical products used in making ingredients used to make finished products. The account manager that we seek has   a good understanding of technical sales, strong in relationship building, will be able to understand applications of our products and has great organizational skills. The position involves selling and taking care of existing customer as well as being on the hunt for net new business from prospects. The successful person is good at prioritizing because we have different products for different industries, territory planning and being diligent with follow ups. Knowledge of chemicals is preferred but if you can demonstrate an affinity for learning, it will be taken into consideration. The client favours someone with a stable employment history.

Territory: Province of Quebec

Work Place: Home office (local to Montreal)

Salary: Base $80,000 to $95,000

Commissions/Bonus: $25,000 at plan with possibilities to go higher

Car allowance: Vehicle + gas card provided

  • Proactively call on customer base of about 40 clients
  • Plan client calls using the 80/20 rule
  • Meet with chemists and buyers
  • Uncover needs and implicate technical resources to help meet those needs
  • Identify opportunities to cross sell and upsell
  • Meet company activity requirements
  • Follow up with clients with proposals, questions and product inquiries
  • Use CRM diligently in an effort to populate opportunities
  • Attend trade shows
  • Entertain clients from time to time

Development vs Maintenance: 60% vs 40%

Road vs Office: 80% vs 20%

Languages: French and English

Education: Undergraduate degree in chemistry preferred but relevant experience will be considered

Training: Full training and onboarding provided

Overnight Travel: Up to 30% overnight travel required

Years’ of experience: A minimum of 5 years relevant experience required

Other requirements: You are tenacious and persistent, and you can represent our brand and values
