Job Description:

Profile: Our client is looking for a Regional Sales Manager who will have a dual role to sell and manage a small team. You will be selling into head offices for groceries and large retailers' head offices. Because some of the products that we sell are seasonal, you will develop and maintain both a set of major clients and a small sales team of independent sales people. To be successful in this role, you need to know the buyers in the categories that we sell, be proactive with clients, have a good command of computer programs and be hands-on and entrepreneurial.  

Territory: Quebec, some Ontario and US

Work Place: Laval (not a work from home position)

Products/Services:

Salary: $80,000-$85,000

Commissions/Bonus: Another $15,000 in bonus/commissions

Car allowance: Km reimbursement

Expenses reimbursement: All travel expenses reimbursed

  • Present our products and services to buyers  
  • Visit and maintain relationships  with our clients
  • Ensure and follow up with delivery lead times
  • Prepare presentations for buyers/clients
  • Grow the base of customers
  • Get involved in quality control
  • Use company CRM to update management on sales
  • Come up with cleaver marketing to manage inventory
  • Coach and lead sales people
  • Bring us to the next level in our sales team

Job Requirements:

Requirements:

Development vs Maintenance: 50% vs 50%

Road vs Office: 20% vs 80%

Languages: French and English

Education: College degree or equivalent experience

Training: On the job training but must have the contacts necessary

Overnight Travel: Less than 15% (2-3 trade shows per year)

Years’ of experience: 5-7 years experience in a similar role needed

Other requirements:

  • Great at building and maintaining relationships
  • Strong computer skills especially inventory management
  • Has worked with a CRM in the past
  • Strong presentation skills especially using PowerPoint
  • Highly entrepreneurial

Transferable contacts:

  • Has sold to the fruit and vegetables buyers at major chains
  • Experience selling flowers and plants is a major asset

Transferable Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the major retailer landscape in Canada is a must
