This client is a rapidly growing investment management firm with current assets under management in excess of $100 million across hedge funds and separately managed accounts. The firm specializes in North American equities, especially in US mid/large cap event-driven and fundamental strategies. We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager in the investment industry who will be reporting directly to the President and will be responsible for the overall management of the Company’s business development, sales and marketing efforts. The successful candidate will be working closely with the President on the Company’s strategic initiatives. He/she will be required to develop a thorough knowledge of the current and potential solutions/services the Company can provide as well as of the investment management market, including asset allocators and competitors.

Functions:

Prospecting for new institutional and high-net worth clients by networking, calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients;
Developing and penetrating various sales channels including financial advisors, brokers, family offices, funds-of-funds, sub-advisory mandates, etc.;
Arranging meetings between prospective investors and the Company’s investment team;
Planning persuasive approaches and pitches, supported by the investment team, that will convince potential clients to do business with the company;
Developing a rapport with new clients, and set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship;
Growing and retaining existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients;
Contributing to strategic planning by developing an appropriate pipeline of new business for the Company;
Maintaining and updating the Company’s business plan;
Leading the Company’s marketing efforts/initiatives with regards to advertising campaigns, marketing and sales material, client communications, the Company’s website and online presence, etc.;
Managing the Company’s general external image.

Job Requirements:

Academic MBA, CFA or CIM designation an asset.
Languages Bilingualism, both French & English (written & spoken)
Experience Minimum of five years of success selling to institutional or high net worth investors;
  Highly competitive and goal-oriented.
