Profile: Our client is a manufacturer in the valve industry and is looking for a Montreal-based business development rep who will be responsible for building new business within their customer base and outside with net new clients in North and Latin America. Your focus will be within the mining, oil and gas, energy and water treatment industries.

Territory: North America + Latin America
Workplace: Hybrid (Montreal based but in-office for training)
Products/Services: Valves
Salary: Base $100,000-$120,000
Commissions/Bonus:$15,000 at plan + uncapped commissions
Car allowance: N/A
Expense’s reimbursement: all reasonable expenses reimbursed

Functions:
  • Work with the sales team to create and follow a sales plan
  • Find new markets, industries, and partners to grow the business.
  • Find and develop new distributors, service centers, and partnerships
  • Lead the sales process from finding leads to closing deals. Help create proposals, presentations, and product demos.
  • Plan and attend trade shows and events to showcase products and network with potential clients.
  • Manage projects from start to finish, making sure they meet customer needs.
  • Work with other departments like marketing and product development to grow the business.

  
Requirements:
Development vs Maintenance: 50% new business vs 50% upselling and cross-selling with existing accounts
Road vs Office: 30% vs 70%
Languages: Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish is an asset
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another relevant field
Training:On the job training of up to 3 months
Overnight Travel: 1-2 weeks of overnight travel every 2-3 months

  • Valve experience is a MUST
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients, attend industry events, and promote the company’s products.
