Profile: Our client is an international leader in over-the-counter medication. They are looking for a public relation and communication specialist to join their dynamic marketing team. Reporting to the marketing manager, your role will be diverse and multi-faceted, therefore excellent professional skills and crisis management experience are vital for this role. You will participate in the elaboration and implementation of the communication strategies for all the brands, prepare key messages and press release, leverage traditional and digital media, manage media outreach and influencer strategy. Salary: $50,000–$55,000

  • Establish and manage public relations campaign to grow the brand
  • Attend sales meetings and present strategies and action plans
  • Develop brand image
  • Maintain relation with traditional media
  • Produce press release and editorial content
  • Create partnerships and sponsorships opportunities
  • Implement influencer marketing and online strategies
  • When in crisis act as an advisor and resource for the top management, answer to the media, prepare communications, etc.
  • Competitive and media intelligence (monitoring)
  • Review and update content (blog, internal and external release
  • Participate in health professionals trade shows and public events.

Job Requirements:


100% PR and Communication

Road vs Office [%]: 10% vs  90%

Languages: English and French [written and spoken]

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, public relation or journalism is required

Training: on-the-job training but must have a pertinent experience

Overnight Travel: 5-6 travel per years in Canada, the USA or France

Years of experience: 3-5 stable years of experience in a similar role

Other requirements:

  • Crisis management is a must have
  • Analytical and synthesis mind is required
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and French
  • Autonomous, but with the abilities to work in team
  • Being occasionally available outside of working hours for events and shows
  • Must pass criminal background check

Transferable contacts:

  • Relations with media is good to have

Transferable Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of over the counter, homeopathic and pharmaceutical Canadian market is a strong asset.
