Profile: Our client is a leading business law firm in Canada, and they are looking for a specialist in proposal writing to join their marketing and business development team. You must have experience (or a diploma) in the legal field and know the lingo. Workplace: Downtown Montréal (home office until Covid-19 restrictions are lifted)

Products/Services: Business Law

Salary: $ 65,000 to $ 85,000

Commissions/Bonus: annual bonus

  • Ensure the preparation of proposals (including strategy and business intelligence, information research, drafting and revision of texts)
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes for service offerings and quality control
  • Collaborate in the designing, writing and revision of marketing and business development tools, including fact sheets, presentations, firm experiences and applications for various competitions, submissions, and recognition programs of the industry
  • Play an advisory role in business development with lawyers
  • Ensure that tools are conform to key messages, guidelines, and styles of the firm
  • Collaborate in the planning, implementation, and smooth running of client’s audit processes
  • Participate in and support business development activities
  • Analyze various data
  • Participate in brainstorming meetings for marketing new concept development

Job Requirements:


Proposal writings 100%

Road vs Office: 100% in office

Languages: English and French (bilingual written and spoken)

Education: University diploma in marketing, law, administration, communications, or an equivalent mix of studies and experience

Training: on the job

Overnight Travel: N/A but you must be available to work outside working hours when needed

Years’ of experience: 5-10 years of experience in proposal writing and an understanding of the legal lingo

Other requirements:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication (and excellent internal customer service skills)
  • Understanding of the corporate world
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Resourceful, organized, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
