Job Description:

Profile: Our client is the maker of automation products, instrumentation and the software that goes with it. We are looking for a senior sales executive who is technical in nature. Sales is done both directly to industries such as pulp and paper, heavy metals etc and through distributors. You take care of an existing base of important clients, hunt for new clients from our targeted industries and support your distributors. The person must be technical in nature, have a track record of selling capital equipment and support a base of clients and distributors successfully.

Territory: Canada (mostly Quebec and Ontario)

Workplace: Work from home, local to Montreal

Products/Services: Automation equipment

Salary: Base $110,000-$130,000

Commissions/Bonus: $50,000 at 100% of plan, possibility to overachieve

Car allowance: $/km

Expense’s reimbursement: All expenses reimbursed

Functions:

  • Visit clients, make presentations and support them in their day to day
  • Assess equipment and systems for long-term sales opportunities
  • Provide quotes for upgrades
  • Develop a sales strategy to identify and contact prospects
  • Upsell and cross sell existing clients
  • Support resellers and distributors by training them, going on dual sales calls and supporting them from a head office point of view
  • Assess distributors performance and adjust accordingly
  • Find new distributors, if needed
  • Participate in pricing policies with head office
  • Update company CRM with all sales opportunities

Job Requirements:

Development vs Maintenance: 40% vs 60%

Road vs Office: 50% vs 50%

Languages: French and English fluently

Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field

Training: Extensive on the job training provided but you must a technical base and experience

Overnight Travel: Up to 40% overnight travel

Years of experience: At least 5 years relevant experience

Other requirements:

  • Ability to sell capital equipment
  • Experience managing resellers/distributors

Transferable contacts:

  • Contacts within industrial accounts would be considered an asset

Transferable Knowledge:

  • Experience in automation for industry is an asset
  • Knowledge of instrumentation is an asset
