Job Description:

Sirius Personnel is a Placement and Headhunting Agency that Specializes in Sales and Marketing Professionals in Montreal. (

Profile: Our client is a manufacturer of food packaging. We are looking for a Key account manager who will handle their distribution network, end users, as well as national accounts for the Montreal and surroundings area. Your role will be to sell our products and service through our distributor's network, insure customer satisfaction, be a problem solver, set territory goals and maximize revenues.

Territory: Montreal and surroundings  

Work Place: Home office  

Products/Services: Food packaging services  

Salary: $70,000.00 - $73,000.00  

Commissions/Bonus: up to 20% of base salary (paid once a year)

Car allowance: Company car and gas card provided  

Expenses reimbursement: All reasonable expenses reimbursed

  • Complete a semi-annual review on the performance of territory and self with an explanation of what happened and why it happened introspectively
  • Prepare for all sales calls to established and prospective distributors and users using multi-dimensional selling
  • Analyze customer and business problems and opportunities and unemotionally negotiate alternative solutions
  • Be active with all accounts in increasing sales with user leads and orders, sales meetings, team calls and well thought out promotions.
  • Use all available sales and marketing tools to enhance the effectiveness of sales initiatives to existing and prospective customers
  • Actively secure and report market and competitive information as it relates to the current activity of selling
  • Successfully attaining new sales of products, both on existing lines stocked as well as new products.
  • Effectively “set the stage” during presentations in order to create a need and influence buying decisions
  • Calling on major accounts and distributors and accompany distributor's rep on sales calls  

Job Requirements:


Development vs Maintenance: 60% vs 40%  

Road vs Office: 80% vs 20%  

Languages: Bilingualism, both French & English (written & spoken)  

Education: A minimum of a DEC is required (verification required)  


  • Ongoing training with the manager via "ride with"  

Overnight Travel: 1 night every 4 month to Quebec city and a few times per year to attend trade shows and training (2-3 times/year)

Years’ of experience: A minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience selling a tangible product preferably in the food services industry  

Other requirements:

  • You demonstrate creative problem solving
  • You have a stable employment record (no job jumping)
  • Must be able to provide a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a criminal and credit check
  • Transferable Knowledge:
  • If you have sold into the food service industry that would be an asset
  • If you have managed a distributor network that would be an asset
