Job Description:

Profile: Our client is a steel distributor and is looking for a Sales Manager to manage sales at their location in Montreal. Your role will be to manage the sales team and play and active role in generating sales to key accounts. You will spend 70% of your time managing and 30% selling. This includes supporting your sales teams during sales presentations, finding and developing new opportunities and reviving dormant accounts with your team. The person that we seek is a team player, supportive, possesses strong coaching abilities and is strong in emotional intelligence.  

Territory: Eastern Ontario to Quebec city

WorkPlace: Montreal

Products/Services: Steel distributor

Salary: Base $85,000-$100,000

Commissions/Bonus: Profit sharing and commissions of between $17,000 and $30,000 annually and uncapped

Car allowance: Km reimbursement

Expenses reimbursement: All reasonable expenses reimbursed

Functions:

• Be the leader of the sales, operation and administration
• Assist salespeople on sales calls
• Generate sales to key accounts
• Ensure that effective customer service is provided to key accounts
• Develop, with your team , an effective strategy for dormant accounts
• Define target market and develop a plan to execute on plan
• Develop relationships with buyers and senior purchasing personnel
• Develop deep relationships with major customers
• Communicate and monitor quality, distribution and service-related issues
• Work to find solutions for common issues

Job Requirements:

Development vs Maintenance: 30% vs 70%

Road vs Office: 25% vs 75%

Languages: Fully bilingual

Education: University degree or College diploma

Training: Full and detailed training programs where you will learn from the ground up

Overnight Travel: Very little overnight required

Years’ of experience: 5-7 years in sales/sales management

Other requirements:

• Must be able to legally cross Canada/US border

Transferable contacts: Steel industry, industrial sales or plumbing wholesaler experience is a major asset

Transferable Knowledge:

• Is on top of market conditions
• Strong sales management abilities
• Ability to motivate and lead sales people
• Strong computer skills especially a CRM
