Our client is a food broker and is looking for a Corporate Sales Chef. The Sales Chef is responsible for planning and executing a customized sales strategy for their assigned operator accounts in order to achieve assigned sales targets. This position is deeply knowledgeable with accounts and builds and maintains close relationships with decision makers and the Chefs at all assigned operators.   • To provide culinary expertise to specific national and regional accounts, Clients and staff.  
  • To develop menu presentations and solutions for all aspects of products marketed
  • To provide back-of-the-house operational and safety training as well as product knowledge training to staff
  • To provide strong representation of all Client’s products sold
  • To maximize sales potential with all Clients products at each and every account
  • Recipe creations, and menu ideation sessions for assigned accounts and assistance for the rest of the local sales team
  • To develop and/or maintain strong business relationships with each and every account
  • Co-ordination and set-up at industry and distributor food shows
  • Support internal sales team with all things culinary including ride-withs, product training, tradeshow assistance  

Job Requirements:

Development vs Maintenance: 0% vs 100%

Road vs Office: 40% vs 60%

Languages: French and English

Education: Studies in food or equivalent experience

Training: Training provided on site  

Overnight Travel: May require to travel within your territory and some overnights may be required

Years of experience: Minimum 5-7 years as a Chef

Other requirements:

  • Have a superior understanding of marketing and product merchandising concepts
  • Have experience with CRM  
  • Have excellent organizational  skills
  • Work may be performed in an office, warehouse or restaurant environment

Transferable Knowledge:

  • Have thorough knowledge of Foodservice distribution/supplier network
  • Have thorough knowledge of all products and their menu application  
  • Have excellent selling techniques and superior knowledge of foodservice operations
  • Have excellent negotiating, analytical and managerial skills
