Profile: Our client is a distributor of lighting products in rapid growth. We are looking for a business development rep who will be responsible for growing the territory of the province of Quebec. In this role, you will sell to users of lighting such as contractors, builders, electrical distributors and represent our products to the architect and designer community. You will spend 75% of your time finding new prospects/customers and the balance of your time responding to inbound leads. The person we seek, is bilingual, able to build relationships and has a track record of new business development.
Territory: Province of Quebec
Workplace: Work from home (local to Montreal)
Products/Services: Lighting products
Salary: Base $60,000-$70,000
Commissions/Bonus: $29,000 at 100% of objectives, no cap on commissions
Car allowance: Government plan
Expense’s reimbursement: All reasonable business expenses will be reimburse

- Present our products to contractors and builders
- Get specified by architects and designers by building relationships, presenting our products and promoting our company
- Find and quote on industrial projects
- Work with Sales Manager on territory planning
- Meet and/or exceed company-set goals
Job Requirements:
Development vs Maintenance: 80% vs 20%
Road vs Office: 70% vs 30%
Languages: French and English
Education: College degree or equivalent experience
Training: On the job training provided
Overnight Travel: Very little overnight required
Years of experience: At least 2 years b2b sales experience required
Other requirements: we are looking for a go-getter
Transferable contacts:
- Contacts within the architect/designer and/or contractor/builder community is an asset
Transferable Knowledge:
- A general knowledge of electrical and/or LED technology is an important asset
