Job Description:

Sirius Personnel is a Placement and Headhunting Agency that Specializes in Sales and Marketing Professionals in Montreal.

Profile:  Our client is a Toronto based distributors with offices across Canada. They sell value added embedded computing, imaging and video equipment which include Machine Vision/Imaging technology. They are in need of a technical sales rep for their Montreal office who is looking to build a sales career with them. This position will focus on the military and aerospace industries who need equipment that withstands high temperatures, shock, vibration and chemical wash downs. Our client offers its customers a broad selection of solutions for their display, computer, I/O and software needs. The ideal candidate has a technical background in computing or camera solutions or have a technologist background. Please send your resume in English.

Territory: Montreal, Ottawa & Maritimes

Work Place: Home office

Products/Services: Industrial automation equipment-machine vision/imaging, embedded and computing systems

Salary: Base $60,000-$75,000

Commissions/Bonus: $40,000 at plan

Car allowance: Fixed monthly allowance + $0.16/km

Expenses reimbursement: All reasonable expenses reimbursed

  • Exceed sales targets for new business and renewed business within designated territory.  
  • Regularly call on all levels within customers including executive level
  • Fully understand and able to present the culture and organisational structure of the customer including key opportunities and major influencers
  • Work through a selling process, including prospecting, qualifying, closing, and presenting
  • knowledgeable on all of the company’s product and service offerings to maximise team exposure to all business opportunities within territory
  • Lead a cross-functional team that includes parties within company and customer
  • Prepare business plan for your territory

Job Requirements:


Development vs Maintenance: 80% vs 20%

Road vs Office: 80% vs 20%

Languages: French and English

Education: Electrical engineering or advanced technologists' degree

Training: Full training provided

Overnight Travel: Up to 25% overnight travel

Years’ of experience: 3 years successful sales experience selling technology with a preference for computing or camera solutions

Other requirements:

  • Experience selling into long sales cycles is an asset
  • Experience responding to RFPs
  • Former military experience is considered an asset
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and preferably obtain security clearance

Transferable Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of industrial computer and video sales is an asset
  • Experience selling to the military and aerospace industry is an asset
