Privacy Statement

We recognize the importance of protecting personal information collected about the users of our site. As we have done in the past, we collect such information on our Web site for the sole purpose of improving our services and the content of our Web site for marketing purposes and to improve our communication with you.

Personal information, such as your name, telephone number, street or e-mail address, may be collected on a voluntary basis, i.e., when you contact us by e-mail or when you register in a protected portion of the site. Moreover, Sirius’s Internet Policy prohibits the sending of junk mail, that is, any form of unsolicited advertising.

All personal information is subject to strict confidentiality. We make exceptions only if we need to do so in order to provide you with a service you have requested and if we are required to disclose such information to third parties under certain laws or legal provisions.

Since Sirius is a career site, we give candidates the option of transmitting us their résumé and other relevant personal information. Sirius recruiters have complete discretion whether to add the résumé of a candidate in Sirius’ database. This information may then be used by Sirius, at its discretion to build lists of potential candidates for employers retaining its services. Sirius usually requests, as long as it can be done practically, a verbal confirmation from a candidate before transmitting information about him or her.

When you access the Sirius site, information is exchanged between your computer and our external server. The following non-personal information is collected at that time: your Internet service provider’s domain name (not your e-mail address), the type of browser and the operating system you are using to access our site, the date and time of access and the pages you visit.

We use cookies, small files containing information that confirms your visit to our site. Usually, cookies are used to make it easier and faster to explore a site.

All personal information is protected under Canadian laws – federal, provincial or territorial – relating to the confidentiality and protection of personal information, and in particular the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Quebec) and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada).

No data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely confidential. Even though we have implemented some of the most effective means to ensure that your personal information is protected, we cannot guarantee that this information will not be lost, used unlawfully or modified in a fraudulent manner. We bear no liability for the use that may be made of this information by you or any third party.

Sirius reserves the right to change this Statement as it sees fit and without prior notice. However, we will ensure that any change to this Statement is in compliance with the laws in effect in Canada with regard to this subject matter.
