Profile: Our client is a well-established auto body shop seeking a dynamic and experienced bilingual General Manager, based in Montreal, to lead day-to-day operations. In this role, you will oversee the full repair process, drive growth, uphold operational standards, and leverage strong financial acumen to ensure overall performance and profitability. Salary: Base $100,000
Commissions/Bonus: $75,000-$100,000 based on EBT, personal and company performance
Car allowance: $500/month + company card

Functions:

• Coordinate the day-to-day flow of work across the shop, ensuring vehicles move smoothly through each stage of the repair process.
• Guide the technical team to consistently produce top-quality results and minimize corrective work.
• Regularly review technician output, identifying strengths and areas that require additional support or coaching.
• Facilitate organized team huddles and individual check-ins to keep everyone aligned and engaged.
• Clearly outline performance expectations and keep the team informed of targets and priorities.
• Build strong relationships with customers and vendors by providing attentive service and proactive communication.
• Manage the movement and placement of vehicles within the shop and confirm all activity is accurately logged in the tracking system.
• Monitor key financial metrics and act quickly to resolve operational challenges that could affect overall performance.
• Manage, coach and mentor staff, under your care

Requirements:
Development vs Maintenance: N/A
Road vs Office: 10% vs 90%
Languages: French and English (written and spoken)
Education: Post-Secondary education in a related discipline would be considered an asset
Training: On the job training provided
Overnight Travel: Up to 10%
Years of experience: At least 5 years Autobody Manager, Production Manager or Estimator
Other requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving history

Transferable Knowledge: 

• Excellent skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Highly skilled in standard office software (MS Office, SharePoint, etc.)
• Knowledge of estimation software needed
• Knowledge of parts price matching programs needed
• Understanding of Provincial Safety code requirements for dealerships
