Profile: Our client is a manufacturer of industrial products and  looking for a bilingual General Manager  to run Canada from the Montreal office. You will manage a team made up of Sales Managers, marketing, customer service and accounting. Your experience in selling to industrial distributors and promoting to end users is valuable. Commissions/Bonus: 25% on base at 100% of plan + profit sharing

Functions:

• Manage the business plan and budget of your region
• Update and implement the strategic plan with short and long term objectives that deliver steady, sustainable growth in revenue and margin.  
• Build and maintain a team focused on excellence
• Ensure that our distribution network across Canada is healthy
• Establish and maintain relationships with key distributors
• Serve as a key member of our management team
• Provide regular feedback to your direct reports
• Participate in expanding our growth
• Work hand in hand with other key people across the organization, internationally

  
Requirements:
Development vs Maintenance: 50% vs 50%
Road vs Office: 50% vs 50%
Languages: French and English
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
Training: On the job training provided
Overnight Travel: Up to 30% in Canada, US and internationally
Years of experience: 15+ years of experience leading successful organizations with at least 5 years at the executive level
Other requirements: Strong business acumen and the ability to manage a P&L
Transferable contacts: Contacts within industrial distributors
Transferable Knowledge:

• Strong leadership skills, not a micro manager but rather someone who empowers and trusts

• Demonstrated abilities controlling expenses
